The annual report includes Innosuisse’s management report and annual financial statements. It is published every year.
In the video, Director Dominique Gruhl-Bégin and President André Kudelski look back on the year 2025.
A growing need for innovation in a challenging environment
For the Swiss economy, 2025 was a year shaped by geopolitical tensions, an economic slowdown, a shortage of skilled workers and technological change. Against this challenging environment, innovation continued to be a decisive factor for Switzerland’s competitiveness.
35% more applications for national innovation projects
Innosuisse carried out its funding activities with a robust federal contribution of CHF 305.1 million, supplemented by CHF 28.7 million as a transitional measure in connection with Horizon Europe. The demand for funding reached a record high: in the case of national innovation projects in particular, it rose sharply – and was around 35% higher than in the previous year, at around 1,100 applications. A targeted call for proposals for SMEs played a pivotal role in making this success possible and demonstrated the high degree of willingness to innovate among Swiss companies.
650 start-ups benefit from one of Europe’s best coaching programmes
Innosuisse also played an important role with respect to start-ups in 2025. Around 650 young companies benefited from coaching and internationalisation programmes. Making Innosuisse’s coaching offer one of the most significant in Europe today. At the same time, BRIDGE, an AI Flagship Initiative in the field of life sciences and the Swiss Quantum Initiative have provided significant momentum at the interface between research and market-oriented innovation.
Innosuisse remains resilient and efficient
With programmes in knowledge and technology transfer, a consistently impact-focused funding practice and investments in digitalisation and international cooperation, Innosuisse strengthened its position as an innovation agency grounded in learning and evidence. Despite high demand and budget pressure, Innosuisse demonstrated resilience, operational efficiency and a clear focus on the needs of the economy and society in 2025.
