A new group of experts joins Innosuisse

Innosuisse has appointed 79 new experts to bolster its support for innovation. The Agency received 1,163 applications, indicating a strong interest in contributing to innovation promotion in Switzerland.

New experts

Following a call for applications launched in June 2025, Innosuisse has just selected 79 new experts to bolster its innovation assessment and support pool. The Agency received a total of 1,163 applications.

After a first pre-selection carried out by the Innosuisse teams and a second by the members of the Innovation Council, the Innosuisse Board of Directors appointed the selected candidates on 20 November 2025. These new experts will take up their duties on 1 January 2026.

A commitment to diversity

Innosuisse is continuing its efforts to reflect the diversity of the Swiss population within its body of expertise. However, some objectives have not yet been achieved. “Despite our measures to increase the number of women and representatives from Ticino in our candidate pool, as well as the special attention paid to their applications, we have still not managed to reach the desired level of representation”, said Barbla Plattner, Head of the Talent and Organisational Development Division.

However, diversity efforts have paid off in other areas. “The linguistic diversity and the distribution of age groups are in line with our expectations. We are also pleased that we’ve been able to maintain the current proportion of women and specialists from Ticino in our pool of expertise, which will stand at 280 members by 2026, with 37% women and 5% representatives from Ticino. We invite our network to continue to encourage these profiles to apply to join our body of experts at the next call for applications”, continued Barbla Plattner.

It should also be noted that 67% of the experts selected come from industry and 28% from academic institutions.

A focus on quantum sciences

This election also reflects Innosuisse’s desire to develop its expertise in the field of quantum sciences, a strategic sector for Switzerland’s technological future.

Seven experts specialising in different fields of this discipline have been appointed in order to oversee assessments of projects that meet the scientific and industrial challenges.

Please note that the next call for applications will be held in 2027.
